This record is a diverse collection of garage rock, pop, stripped-down R&B and love songs. Lou Reed takes the listener on a ride through tales of drugs and sexual exploration. What’s more, the album’s cover art, by Andy Warhol (who also is credited as Producer), remains among the most recognizable ever. Thirty years after its debut, this record still hasn’t lost its power.
