Supertramp’s Live In Paris comes to 3LP for the first time!
Features the complete Supertramp show from the December 1979 tour
Supertramp fans will soon have the chance to experience their globe-spanning Breakfast In America tour as never before.
Supertramp’s Breakfast in America was the biggest-selling album in the world in 1979. It spawned several hit singles and went on to win two Grammy Awards and sell more than 20 million copies. Following the album’s release, Supertramp embarked on a 10-month world tour, which arrived in Paris at the end of November. This show from the Pavillon de Paris was both filmed and recorded in December 1979, and this 3LP set is the soundtrack to the concert film. Supertramp’s classic lineup (Rick Davies, Roger Hodgson, John Helliwell, Dougie Thomson & Bob Siebenberg) perform all their iconic tracks including, “The Logical Song,” “Crime of the Century,” “Give a Little Bit,” “Take the Long Way Home,” and many more.
Siebenberg recalls the era fondly, saying, “Looking back at that period, it really was the experience of a lifetime… the best of times.” Adds Helliwell, “Those Paris shows were a definite high point for us because you could feel the audience reaction. You can actually hear the volatility in the French crowd. They sound a little mad!”
